Leadership competencies and coaching

Leadership competencies are like the muscles that allow managers to be able to effectively contribute to the company´ s mission and to facilitate their collaborators their contribution to the mission. Leadership competencies are essential in the process of becoming a leader. Managerial coaching can help managers in their personal process of becoming Leaders. They can progress as leaders developing leadership competencies. Leadership competencies can be acquired and developed by action. The person has to be determined to change whatever it is necessary and overcome whatever obstacles he/she encounters in its way until he/she develops the competency. There are certain strategies to facilitate the competencies development, which can be found out in Pablo Cardona´s book How to develop leadership competencies (EUNSA 2005) and which Professor Cardona is further enriching in a promising new book written along with Helen Wilkinson and soon on print: The ten critical leadership competencies. See Competency-based leadership (DPON-11-E). Capacity for Change (DPON-55-E). How to improve your communication (DPON-51-E). Conflict Management (DPON-53-E). Creativity and Innovation (DPON-54-E). Customer Orientation (DPON-52-E). Coaching at Banco Azucarero de Cali (BAC) A y B (DPO 34-E and DPO 35-E).
